The Hampshire Avon is regarded by many as one of the best fly fishing rivers in the UK and Undercastle Cottage owns an impressive 1100 yards of this famous river’s banks for guests to fish from. The stretch of river either side of the cottage is wildly pretty with plentiful wildlife and overhanging trees, plants and shrubs providing sanctuary. The river has a plentiful food source from an abundant variety of fly hatches, providing fishermen with rod bending experiences to catch mighty barbel, chub, salmon, carp, pike, dace, grayling and trout.
Tutorage
Take a few steps across Undercastle Cottage’s garden, and you’re on the banks of 1100m of private fishing on the famous Hampshire Avon – home to some of the best coarse and fly fishing in the country. It’s perfect for some great guilt-free fishing while your non-fishing friends and family relax in the comfort and luxury of the cottage. While staying at Undercastle Cottage, there’s an opportunity to learn (or brush up) on your fly and coarse fishing skills with private tuition tailored to your requirements.

He’s a fishing guru who knows the Hampshire Avon intimately through his many years of successful catches. Learn from Bob’s methods, techniques, tactics and his knowledge of fish behaviour.
£250 up to two people
£105 per additional person
Coarse fishing is from 16th June to 14th March and Salmon and Trout fishing is between 1st April to the 30th September.
You cannot fish between 15th March to 1st April.
