Take a pew to watch the comings and goings of kingfishers, wild otters and egrets. Dragonflies and butterflies drift through the air while Mandarin ducks paddle quietly along the river. Across the water, cows and deer graze the water meadows, with hares, swans and geese appearing throughout the day.

With 220 square miles of National Park to roam, romp and play, plus plenty of dog-friendly pubs, cafés and attractions, every day brings a new adventure. Back at the cottage, there’s a ¾-acre garden to explore, underfloor heating and a toasty log-burner for curling up beside on those magical, frosty nights.

Enjoy exclusive access to 2,500 yards of the Hampshire Avon, one of the country’s best chalk stream fishing rivers, celebrated for huge barbel, chub, trout, pike and salmon. Cast a line from the garden or paddle to the pontoons in the rowboat.

The joy of our location means you can walk for an hour or wander all day and not see another soul. We’ve left maps of our favourite strolls at the cottage - some of which end rather conveniently at a pub for lunch. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
